Hudson Benefit Stars Lukas Nelson, Tommy Stinson, Rhett Miller, and More

Hudson’s certainly hoppin’ when it comes to music picks this month. Just days ago, this space featured a write-up on the town’s impending visit from indie darlings the Low Anthem (see July 8’s Daily Dose). And today bears the news of the recently announced “FarmOn! Hoedown” benefit that will take place at Club Helsinki on July 18.

Quite the star-studded affair it is. In addition to roots rockers Lukas Nelson (the son of Willie Nelson) and his band Promise of the Real, the lineup features appearances by Rhett Miller (Old 97’s), townie Tommy Stinson (Replacements, Guns ’N Roses, Soul Asylum) and his daughter Ruby Stinson, and area up-and-comer Liana Gabel; plus there’s a locally sourced, farm-fresh menu by Helsinki’s acclaimed executive chef, Hugh Horner. Proceeds raised at the event will assist Columbia County’s FarmOn! Foundation, which “strives to bring community awareness to food sources, reinvigorate a respect for farming to inspire youth, and encourage careers in agriculture and help connect rural to urban marketplaces.”

The “FarmOn! Hoedown” benefit concert will take place at Club Helsinki in Hudson on July 18 at 7pm. Tickets are $50 and $75. For more information, call (518) 828-4800 or visit http://helsinkihudson.com
