Food briefs: Alice Waters at Copake farm fest Saturday POU 4:49 p.m. EDT September 23, 2014 Chef Alice Waters in Copake Saturday for fundraiser COPAKE, Columbia County – Renowned chef, restauranteur and early proponent of the farm-to-table movement Alice Waters will be in Columbia County Saturday for a food and farming festival. The fourth annual FarmOn! Hudson Valley Food Lovers Farm Festival to benefit the FarmOn! Foundation takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., organizers said. Waters will be present for a 4:30 p.m. ribbon cutting for a victory garden at the foundation’s new site, Empire Farm, at 556 Empire Road in Copake, where the event takes place. She is also scheduled to attend a “meet your farmer,” mixer at 5 p.m. said FarmOn! Founder and executive director Tessa Edick. The event is open to the public.
