A Night to Remember

FarmOn once again brought together family farmers, hungry diners, and famous guests for a locavore dinner celebrating the men and women who feed us all!

This time around, 520 attendees gathered with 100 independent local farmers at scenic Empire Farm.  As always, we were thrilled to be joined by a revered guest chef: Alfred Portale of Gotham Bar and Grill in New York City.  Alfred cooked up a hyper-regional menu of spit-roasted chicken and pork, farm-fresh salads, and sweet just-picked corn; our guests also enjoyed baked goods from local heroes Bread Alone and a cheese course courtesy of our Hudson Valley dairy farmers.

Larry Olmsted, award-winning journalist and author, read from his book Real Food, Fake Food before giving a talk and QA session presented by Oblong Books.

Bellies and minds filled, our guests then joined us for a bonfire after-party.  We kept it burning, dancing and singing, until the small hours of the morning.
