A Standalone Concert Event Benefiting the Foundation
We have been lucky here at FarmOn!. Each year, our events have grown in size and scope — this trend shows no signs of stopping. We had always had a live music component during the second day of our annual Hootenanny. This year, though, we went bigger.
We booked the stylish Club Helsinki in nearby Hudson, NY for a one-night-only benefit show presented by John Varvatos. Headlining was Lukas Nelson — you may be familiar with his dad, Willie — who, along with his band the Promise of the Real delivered a stunning rendition of “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes.” Liana Gabel, a professional tap-dancer and local native, kept the crowd on their feet with an incredible routine. And when Ruby Stinson was joined onstage by her father, Tommy, the whole room fell silent.
The venue change helped to bring our message to a wider audience. The crowd — sold-out, naturally — was drawn both from our friends and supporters as well as local Hudson residents. The more, the merrier: there’s room for everyone who wants to do their part for the future of family farming in America!
The show went off without a hitch, and we considered it a smashing success. We fully intend to book more of these in the future as our Foundation continues its mission to win the future for sustainable, ethical agriculture.
